Empty Room Promotions was established in the Summer of 2002 by Pearse Guina and Mike Trotman, two lifelong fans of live music who got tired of spending all their money going to other peoples gigs and decided to start putting on their own.

As they said at the time, “Our philosophy is to promote bands we enjoy, make sure everyone has a good time (artistes and audience) and try not to lose too much money! The type of music that we tend to focus on is called Americana, which is best described as a mixture of country, folk and rock. 

Over the subsequent 19 year period we have put on over 350 gigs in over 20 venues, moving from our original Buckingham base to Oxford, Thame, Witney, and beyond in the quest for world domination!

In this time we have promoted many of our favourite artistes, some of whom have gone on to bigger things and to play huge venues. Over the period we have promoted, among others Richmond Fontaine, Josh Ritter, Chuck Prophet, Alejandro Escovedo, the late Guy Clark, Tift Merritt, Dawes, Buddy Miller, Dave Alvin, The Hot Club Of Cowtown, Gretchen Peters, The Handsome Family, Ryan Bingham, Margo Price, Courtney Marie  Andrews, Billy Bragg  and many, many more.
